Welcome to Makermaking, where beautiful vintage and quirky design meet. If your idea of home decor is a celebration of character, creativity, and sustainable style, I hope you will appreciate my pieces.
I repurpose the vintage into quirky home decor as well as source unusual and characterful vintage pieces. Each piece has had a past, a personality, and after passing through my hands, a new purpose.
In a world of the mass-produced, there’s a growing appetite and need for the re-created.
Repurposed vintage decor isn’t just visually captivating, it’s a reflection of values. Choosing pre-loved, thoughtfully restored pieces reduces waste, supports local artisans, and brings authenticity into the spaces we inhabit.

I have no idea what will inspire me next ... some vintage 16mmm film canisters in to tables, mirrors, candle holders; old card index drawers in to small tables; repurpose some vintage tennis racket press frames in to jewellery stands, mirrors, shopping list holders; and more.
It's about keeping the object's character and enhancing it with a new purpose, and in a way that I find quirky.

All pieces are available from the MakerMaking Etsy shop. MakerMaking is an Etsy Star Seller with a 5-star rating and over 1,000 sales since 2020.
Most pieces are genuinely one-of-a-kind. Because each item starts life as a unique vintage object, a specific wood plane, a particular film canister, a single tennis racket press frame, no two finished pieces are ever exactly alike. Some designs, such as the paintbrush holders and print ball drying racks, are made in small batches but still vary depending on the vintage materials available.
Yes, commissions and custom requests are welcome. If you have something specific in mind, get in touch and we can discuss what's possible.
All items are carefully and securely packaged before dispatch. MakerMaking ships from the UK via Etsy. Delivery times and costs are shown at checkout on the Etsy listing.
It means taking a real vintage object, something with a history and a character of its own, and giving it a new, useful purpose rather than letting it end up in landfill. At MakerMaking that might mean a worn-out carpenter's wood plane becoming a paintbrush holder, a 16mm film canister becoming a side table, or a vintage tennis racket press frame becoming a wall mirror. The original object's character is kept — only its purpose changes.
